News the past week has been centered around the U.S. government's work to extend the executive power of the president through spying on their own citizens. Not only do these actions amount to ridiculous illegal, infractions on civil liberties but on top of that the government continues to lie about the situation. In defending spying (sounds a lot like defending torture) the administration stated that the wiretaps were only used when one of the individuals was outside the United States (as if this made it alright). It turns out that the wiretaps are flawed occasionally and even if the NSA thinks that the person is outside the United States they may be within its borders. Sounds like another giant recipe for mistakes.
